Inflected Ending -ing
The ending -ing means that an action is happening now.
Example:
1. Carlos and Michelle are baking a cake.
2. My teacher is writing on a construction paper.

Inflected Ending -ed
The ending -ed means that an action happened in the past. The ending -ed stands for the sound /t/, /d/, or /ed/.

Example:

Important Rule
If there is a C-V-C pattern (consonant-vowel-consonant) at the end of a base word, I need to double the last consonant and then add -ed or -ing.
